But there is another thing that nobody can deny Travis Head was on fire. The exceptional performance of Travis Head left a nation of 1.42 billion people silent and disappointed. That was what Head actually managed to do.
Not The First Time!
However, this is certainly not the first time that Travis Head managed to hurt the Boys In Blue. Back in June 2023, Head managed to score an explosive 163 runs off 174 balls which helped the Australian front to win against India by 209 runs. On Sunday, Head managed to do something similar when he single-handedly demolished the Indian Bowling front.
With his exceptional performance, Head managed to induct himself into the list of some of the biggest names in cricketing history. He is currently sitting alongside the likes of Clive Lloyd, Viv Richards, Aravinda de Silva, Ricky Ponting, Mahela Jayawardene, and Adam Gilchrist, batsmen who managed to score a century in the finals. He is also one of the few players alongside Mohinder Amarnath (1983), Aravinda de Silva (1996), and Shane Warne (1999), who secured a ‘Man Of The Match’ title in the Semi Final as well as in the Finals.
Hence, Head has certainly been turning heads with his amazing batting skills and tactical knowledge of the game. As a result, it will not be surprising to see him taking up more responsibilities in the Australian Cricket team.
Whatever may be the case, nobody can deny that the Aussies managed to show India their mettle with amazing showmanship and batting skills. Still, things will not be easy next time we meet again on the pitch.
