Wide receiver Mecole Hardman is already an established player. But his current team, the New York Jets, is trading Mecole Hardman back to his former home, Kansas City Chiefs, where he was on the roster for two Super Bowl-winning teams.
An insider source broke the news to the Associated Press on Wednesday. This can greatly affect the course of this year’s NFL.
The Jets are currently also sending a seventh-round pick in the 2025 draft to the Chiefs and, in return, will be receiving the sixth-rounder that year. This was confirmed by the source who broke Hardman’s news of the trade.

The Chief decided to pick the 25-year-old wide receiver in the very second round of the 2019 draft. He made a Pro Bowl as a rookie and a return specialist.
Eventually, Hardman became a core part of the Chief’s offensive line. Hardman beautifully took advantage of the Mahomes’ skills. And ended up making around 151 catches for approximately 2,088 yards and around 16 touchdowns.
But sitting out eight major games due to injury has put a toll on the young player’s psyche, and he told the media, “I just want to play… Whether it’s here or somewhere else, I don’t make that call.”
Still, Hardman decided to become a free agent last offseason. And subsequently signed a $4 million dollar contract with the Jets.
The reason why the Jets wanted to acquire Hardman for themselves is because the Jets want to incorporate the speed of the young wide receiver.
