The NFL fans and officials are grief-stricken by the sudden passing away of one of the NFL legends. Reported first by the Spectrum News in Buffalo, former NFL wide receiver Mike Williams died on Tuesday at the age of just 36.
This unfortunate passing away of a player left NFL followers sad but raised a huge question about athlete deaths that happened in the last few years.
Williams was a Buffalo native who attended the prestigious Syracuse University. Later on, as a freshman, he led his team with 481 receiving yards. Moreover, he was also an All-Big East selection. But for academic reasons, the officials suspended him in 2008.
Cut to 2010, after proving his mettle at the university level, he was drafted in the fourth-round selection by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. And this started a new chapter in his life.
As a fresh recruit, his primary focus was to come to the spotlight, in which he succeeded with flying colors. In his rookie season, he led his team with around 964 receiving yards.
After that, he moved around teams both as a full-time contract holder and a free agent. But all that came to a screeching halt with his untimely demise.
