In the newest chapter of the ongoing banter between Claressa Shields and Keith Thurman, things took a weird turn. Claressa Shields recently posted a picture of her with a medal.
The two-time undisputed champion went candid and talked about how struggles and ‘pressure’ made her into what she is today. But the juiciest part of the gossip is that this move caught the legendary Connor ‘Notorious’ McGregor.
Even since Claressa Shields called out Keith Thurman in a post for going toe-to-toe, the fans of the sport are left divided. Some say that the move was unnecessary and attention-seeking in nature.
Others like Shadaisa Green felt that there was nothing wrong with it. When asked about the opinion, Green said, “Of course, she is a competitor. If she called out a man, then she thinks that she can go toe-to-toe with Keith Thurman. That’s her thoughts, kudos to her.”
Amidst this banter, one thing that struck fans’ eyes was Connor McGregor’s appreciation of Sheilds’ fire. Even though McGregor refrained from saying anything, he did like the post by Claressa Sheild.
Shields Calls Herself Humble
According to Sheilds, she would stop Thurman within seven rounds in a ten-round matchup.
This speaks volumes of the young boxer’s confidence. Meanwhile, not everyone was enthralled by Shield’s confidence and beauty and rather found Shields to be bragging and smug.
While others believe that Sheilds was no match for Thurman. In fact, one fan also went the extra mile and said, “Keith is way ahead of you. “ Therefore, not everybody shares Shields’ opinion that she is humble.
Still, with the row-picking hype amongst the fans of the boxing community, nobody would complain if the match truly took place. In fact, sources suggest that there is a rumor that officials might be actually considering the fight as it would be one of the first of its kind.
