There is only a week left for the final of the World Test Championship, and the Indian team led by Rohit Sharma is looking forward to a good result against the Australian team at The Oval, which is about to start on June 7.
India has come close to winning the ICC trophy many times since 2013 but has yet to succeed every time. If India wins the World Test Championship, it can end that phase for them and bring them their Second Victory.
Various skillful players like Rishabh Pant and Jaspreet Bumrah will not be a part of the team due to their injuries. The pace line-up seems quite strong, even with Juspreet Bumrah. The choice is between KS Bharat and Ishan Kishan, as Pant won’t join the team.
In an interview with Star Sports, Ravi Shastri said that he is very clear about choosing the 12. He mentioned that he had learned a lot from the last WTC where India was in the finals in Southampton, where the weather was overcast. It is important to make a team keeping in mind every condition possible.
Ravi Shastri mentioned picking the best 12 for the World Test Championship final. He further said, “My 12 is very clear: Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara at No. 3, Virat Kohli at 4, Ajinkya Rahane at 5.”The choice has come to Ishan Kishan and KS Bharat. And according to Shastri, India should go with one depending on who else will be playing in the match.
If two spinners are playing, then it might be KS Bharat. But if one spinner and four-seamers are playing, then they might go with Ishan Kishan. He added, “ Six will be Jadeja, 7 will be Mohammed Shami, 8 will be Mohammed Siraj, 9 will be Shardul Thakur. 11 will be Ravichandran Ashwin, and 12 will be Umesh Yadav.”
