Due to his sensational performances for Team India in the T20 World Cup 2022, Virat Kohli is named the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for October 2022.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India wrote on Twitter, “Congratulations to @iamVKohli – ICC Player of the Month for October #TeamIndia.” The former captain of the Indian Cricket Team shows that he is not finished yet as he has been showing great performance in the ongoing T20 World Cup. Virat is able to manage 246 runs in 5 matches with an average of 123.00. In these five innings, he was not out in three innings. His performance, along with Suryakumar Yadav’s contribution of 225 runs, took the Indian team to the semi-finals, where they are going to face England on Thursday, November 10, 2022.
Virat Kohli replied, “It is a great honor for me to have been voted the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for October. Being chosen as the standout player by fans across the globe as well as the panel makes this accolade even more special for me,” to the tweet. He also added, “I want to pay tribute to the other nominees who performed so well during the month and also to my teammates, who continue to support me to perform to the best of my ability.”
Right now, he is the top scorer in the tournament with 246 runs, and his high score is 82*. Daren Ganga, an ICC voting panel member, said, “Kohli is the quintessential batter. He displayed immense character to overcome a lean period with the bat.” He also added, “That majestic knock against Pakistan will be remembered as one of the all-time T20I innings.”
