The PGA Tour is continuing in full swing as the tour heads to Bermuda for the 2023 Butterfield Bermuda championship. The match will supposedly take place at the Port Royal Golf Course, which is the second shortest course of the tour.
Introduced first in 2019, The Bermuda Championship is a fairly new addition to the PGA Tour. This was initially introduced as an alternative event to the WGC-HSBC champions. But now, it has become one of the primary legs of the PGA Tour.
Greens Detail
The Bermuda course is said to be one of the shortest courses measuring only 6,842 yards. Therefore, players will have their accuracy tested rigorously in this course.
Analysts believe that Wedge and short iron play will be important this weekend. The course features Bermuda grass greens and has approximately three par-5, four par-3s, and 11 par-4s.
Among all the 11 par-4s on the course, none of them measures over 460 yards. Instead, the course will primarily test player’s accuracy off the tee. The course stretches for 6,842 yards for par-71.
The front nine is a little longer at around 3,474 yards for a par 36. Meanwhile, the back nine stretches around 3,368 yards for a par 35.
So these were the stats that the Bermuda course boasts. It is a small yet challenging course that primarily demands accuracy from its players. Hence, fans are eagerly waiting to see how the Bermuda leg of the PGA Tour pans out.
