UFC 296: Main Highlights

UFC 296 showcased a row of excellent bouts that left everyone craving for more. However, one fight that caught fans’ attention was between Shavkat Rakhmonov facing off against Stephen Thompson. Both the fighters were remarkable in their own respect and were not at all joking around.

Rakhmonov entered the match with an undefeated record, and as a result, people had more expectations from the fight. And the expectations were right. The fight was one of the most bombastic fights out there, and Rakhmonov’s absolute dominance proved a little too much for ‘Wonderboy.’ As he suffered his first-ever defeat by submission.

The Positives.

Apart from the fight itself, UFC 296 was action-packed in other senses as well. One thing that caught people’s attention was Wonderboy’s entry itself. The famed fighter entered the ring with none other than actor and comedian Jack Black along with musician and songwriter Kyle Gass. This was a surprising delight for everyone involved.

Thompson just showed his gratitude to the celebrity duo. Thompson penned an emotional note saying, “On a night that would be very easy to get lost in the negatives, I have to say, having @jackblack and @theactualkylegass walk with me to the cage and support me is a massive positive & a dream come true.”
