Coaching is not the easiest of things to do for someone. You will be dealing with world-renowned athletes to improve their game and even deal with their egos, especially when you are tasked to coach some of the biggest names in the industry. However, Serena William’s former coach Patrick Mouratoglou has proved that he is the perfect man for the job.
Tutoring The Champions
Patrick Mouratoglou is one of the most famous tennis coaches of all time. Not only has he helped or coached Serena Williams, but he has also invested time and energy to train the 42-year-old American tennis legend Stefanos Tsitsipas.
Just recently, the French tennis coach just opened about his experience coaching some of the biggest players in the game. Unlike the popular notion, it is not easy to teach a prodigy. In contrast, this is rather challenging as the tables are turned.
The French coach said, “I know a lot of people think that it’s easier when you have Champions to coach them. I think it’s the opposite, you know for many reasons, first of all because of their personalities, they have extremely strong personalities that’s why they are where they are and they know a lot already about themselves. They have a lot of things that they believe in.”This shows how things can get confrontational between a coach and an athlete. Nonetheless, he managed to make it work for so long. A true show of character and tenacity.
