Boys would always be boys. Lando Norris secured a second spot at the Hungarian Grand Prix. During the trophy ceremony, Lando wanted to soak Max Verstappen with champagne but ended up breaking the trophy.
The champagne ceremony is termed the crowning moment of celebration. However, in an attempt to impress the racing fans present, Lando attempted to open his champagne bottle with Vestappenn’s cup. However, things did not go as planned.
After loosening the cork, Lando raised his bottle in the air and slammed it hard on one of the arms of the cup, which made it tumble. As a result, the cup fell down and broke.
Fans could be heard screaming in shock at what just happened as they saw the cup tumble down and break.

Once the bottles were empty, people noticed the true extent of the damage. Later on, 12 consecutive times, the winner was seen smiling while holding the cup.
Apparently, the trophy’s price is somewhere around £40,000, and a manufacturer based in Budapest made the trophy.
The trophy boasted pink engravings in order to promote the new Barbie film that is currently playing in the theaters. Therefore, it was a very costly mistake on Lando Norris’s part.
Nonetheless, things seem to be fine between the two racers. Mclaren, Lando’s team, made an official apology, saying, “Sorry Max.” To which Red Bull, Max’s team, replied, “We’re gonna need some glue.” Therefore keeping the sportsman’s spirits high.
Later on, when the press asked Norris about the trophy, he mockingly said, “I’m not sure.” Even though he is well aware that millions saw his mistake.
Norris and Verstappen are good friends outside of the circuit, and this goes to show how they both reacted after this major failure. Nonetheless, it’s these moments in sports that make it all the more memorable.
