Pittsburg Steelers won their final game against the Green Bay Packers, but it came with a price. Steelers might be one of the potential contenders for Superbowl 2023-24. But they are certainly unlucky when it comes to losing players to injury.
When we spotted Cole Holcomb carting off the field in a clash against the Titans, the streak began.
The person who replaced Holcomb was Kwon Alexander, who suffered the same fate of serious injury after the Packers game.
The Steelers are not having the nicest of times after taking consistent hits on their linebacker list. Oddly enough, Mike Tomlin managed to keep his cool and still conduct a press conference to update the fans on what was happening to the team.
From the looks of it, fans speculate that Tomlin might be looking to sacrifice his linebacker luxury.
What Will Happen To Steelers?
According to the official press release, Alexander seems to have suffered a lower-body injury. The official statement read, “It appears Kwon Alexander has a serious lower-body injury.” An ESPN report confirmed that Alexander suffered a non-contact injury in which he tore his Achilles tendon.
After Holcomb’s departure due to injury, everyone thought that Kwon Alexander would step in to fill the void. But that seems to be a far cry now. The LB was having a decent season till the tragedy struck him.
As a result, head coach Tomlin pinned a lot of expectations on the linebacker and on the LB’s ability. But with Alexander down, the linebacker side of the Steelers might be in jeopardy.
Still, Tomlin seems to be absolutely fine with the things that are happening. Maybe he still has one ace up his sleeves.
