The KKR vs RCB match for 3rd May 2021 has been postponed due to Covid concerns in the KKR camp. The two players who have been tested positive for Covid-19 are Sandeep Warrier and Varun Chakravarthy. However, other teams have been tested negative for Covid-19.
It is for the first time in IPL 2021 that a match is being postponed even though some of the players had incurred the virus earlier.
Both the players of the KKR team have been sent to isolation to stop the spread of Covid-19 to other players and staff members. At the same time, the teams that played against KKR over the last 14 days being asked to self-isolate by their respective franchises.
The Medical team is in continuous touch with both players and is monitoring their health. The Kolkata Knight Riders and the BCCI prioritize the health and safety of everyone involved and all the effective measures are being practiced in that attempt. Besides, the date for the postponed match hasn’t been decided yet. The date will be updated soon.
