In a grim turn of events, a former NFL player got sucked into a fateful situation that left the whole sports world shocked.
On Saturday, a family member of Sergio Brown lodged a complaint that Sergio and his mother, Myrtle, were missing. This initiated a statewide manhunt by the police in order to look for them both.
However, later on, police found the 73-year-old woman, Myrte Brown, dead in a creek near her house. But there is no news on Brown’s whereabouts.
As per current sources, authorities believe that Myrte Brown’s death is a homicide and is being investigated in a similar fashion.
Sheila Simmons, sister of Myrtle Brown, told reporters that she last talked to her sister on the 14th of September.
The last time Sheila saw her sister was on September 8th. Her official statement was, “We’re going to find out what happened because it’s not normal for my sister to not answer her phone, not to respond to text messages. People have been reaching out to her since Friday. No one was able to reach her…Now, I got the call this morning saying that she’s missing, so immediately I came out here and find out my sister is dead.”
Missing Son:
Police have divided their efforts in order to catch Myrtle’s killers and find Sergio respectively.
With Myrtle dead and Sergio missing, the only possible lead for the police is to track down Sergio and question him on his whereabouts. In fact, the only suspect police have at this point is Sergio himself.
The preliminary autopsy has revealed that Myrtle has died of multiple injuries due to assault. As a result, police are not ruling out that maybe this crime was a crime of passion.
