Oleksandr Usyk is eagerly waiting for his shot at the undisputed title against Tyson Fury, which is supposedly going to take place in February in Saudi Arabia. Initially, the fight was supposedly slated for a date of December 23rd in Riyadh. But due to an injury sustained by Fury at the hands of Ngannous, the fight was pushed back to 2024.
Usyk is currently the holder of titles like WBA, WBO, IBO, and IBF. He is also one of the few fighters who has maintained the undefeated, similar to Tyson Fury.
Maybe this is why both the fighters are looking forward to the alleged battle for the ages. However, a bruised eye has pushed the fight date back a little. But that does not mean that Saudi Arabia will not participate in the fight.
The Entertainment Authority’s Head, Turki Alalshikh, wants to organize a massive fighting event that will supposedly deliver what the Fury vs Usyk fight promised. This is why Frank Warren recently talked with Jordan And White. Alalshikh is currently pushing for the same fight date.
Another Fight Night?
Warren did agree to the prospect but has not yet revealed the names that will come into the picture.
According to Warren, “There’s gonna be a big night in December. We’ll be announcing it very soon and it will be massive. You’re gonna love it, I promise you you’re gonna love it. I can’t give you all the information at the moment, but everything’s going in the right direction for something to be a historical night of boxing.”
This has really left boxing fans hoping and praying.
Apart from assuring that the December 23rd fight date is still on, Warren has also assured that the fight will feature some big names. But any other detail is essentially sparse. So it is a matter of time before we find out about the fight.
