Sunday saw the beginning of the NFL regular season being kicked off. Therefore, it is only natural that the day had a lot of drama. The opening match of the season left a lot of players injured on both sides.
Some of the notable names include J.K. Dobbins of the Baltimore Ravens and Anthony Richardson of the Indianapolis Colts.
While both the injuries were concerning and left fans worried. Richardson’s injury is a minor one, and he can resume his game soon enough.
Meanwhile, Dobbins needs help off of the field after sustaining a devastating trauma that left him with a torn Achilles. As a result, sources and doctors suggest that Dobbins might be out of the season for good. This is a devastating blow to the Ravens as well as the fans.
Dobbins has been performing exceptionally well and was one of the seminal contributors to the team’s overall performance. And now, with a serious injury that left him unfit for the rest of the season, things are looking bleak.
The Tackle
Dobbins was showing his dominance on the field most of the match. But as he caught a pass from Lamar Jackson at the 5-yard mark, things took a turn for the worse.
As soon as he caught the pass and was making a run for it, M.J. Stewart came and tackled Dobbins near the sidelines. This left the young RB incapacitated, and he was later escorted off the field.
Later on, doctors confirmed that the tackle left him with a torn Achilles, which takes months to recover. As a result, Dobbins will have to sit for the rest of the 2023 season.
But given the star’s tenacity and perseverance, fans are ready to make an explosive return in the 2024 season. But as of now, the Ravens need to do their thing without Dobbins.
