Haaland is currently one of the best strikers in the world. In a very short span of time, the Norwegian soccer star rose to a magnanimous position. Not only is he one of the most loved soccer players, but he is one of the most compared soccer athletes of his time. And most recently, Athletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone indulged in something similar.
According to Atletico Madrid’s manager, Alvaro Morata was an equivalent to Halaand. The soccer community is, however, not convinced by this and is eager to see what Simeone has to say in order to back up his claim. Haaland has been one of the youngest players we have seen who is being compared with the likes of Lionel Messi and Christiano Ronaldo.
Morata & Haaland At Par?
In an official press release, Simeone clearly said, “Álvaro Morata is on par with Erling Haaland. In terms of goals and his numbers, he can certainly be compared to him.” Morata has been a player for many teams; he has moved from Madrid to Athletico Madrid, Chelsea, Juventus, etc. This 31-year-old player managed to rack up 12 goals, 15 assists across La Liga and Champions League. On the other hand, Haaland managed to rake up 17 goals across 18 games.
Now, even though fans might not agree with the comparison outrightly. The stats do show that they both come quite close. However, Haaland seems more in tune with whatever he presents. As a result, in my personal opinion, Haaland is a better athlete when compared to Morata.
