The world of tennis is for the legends and makers of history. And the Trans-Siberian Express looks like a great opportunity to do so.
Currently, the Trans-Siberian Express is doing a trial run at the Shanghai Masters. And this was host to an amazing feat of the tennis world. The Shanghai Masters bore witness to the 27-year-old Russian tennis wiz Andrey Rublev trying to cement his name alongside the legendary Roger Federer.
Being one of the last-standing players in the top 10 list, everyone is waiting to see how or if he will etch his name in history.
A Young Russian Player Is All Set To Break Federer’s Record:
The current world ranking number 9 player comfortably defeated the American tennis player Tommy Paul with a 7-5 scoreline.
With this win, Rublev managed to induct himself in the quarter-final of the Shanghai Masters. The next opponent he will be facing in the final is UGO Humbert of France. He is a fiercely competitive player who is known for his tenacity.
But what is more interesting is that Rublev is currently one of the only top 10 players who remains standing in the tournament.
This is the second time that such a thing has happened. The last time this happened was in Toronto in 2006. Roger Federer was the only top 10 athlete who managed to complete the feat.
Therefore, if the Russian manages to accomplish or repeat the same history once again, then it will be one of the biggest moments in the world of tennis. But from where we are standing, the journey will not at all be an easy one.
So, it is a long wait till the finish line. But if he does manage to clinch the victory, it will be one of the biggest things in the tennis world.
