Fans were absolutely ecstatic about the Paulo Costa vs Khazmat Chimaev bout that was supposed to take place at UFC 294. Both the fighters have yet to step into the cage this year. Chimaev was prepping for UFC 279 against Nate Diaz.
However, the fight was scrapped as Chmaev struggled to gain weight. Meanwhile, Costa’s last bout was at the UFC 278, where he triumphed by a unanimous decision. Since then, both fighters have been on hiatus.
But now, fans are getting more and more eager to witness the ultimate showdown between these two fighters. But now, the fight seems to be moving further and further away from the reality.
According to a source, Costa will undergo surgery on his elbow just five weeks ahead of his October 21 appearance. Therefore casting a shadow on the fight.
DM & Escalation
The banter perfectly captured the unpredictable nature of their rivalry and, subsequently, the fight.
Since the fight has yet to take place in reality, fans’ amazing clash between the two very accomplished fighters engages in a banter of egos.
But what left fans intrigued in the banter was not because two men were threatening to fight. But the involvement of a female in the overall equation.
In a fit of emotions or something else, Chimaev DMed Costa’s girlfriend and manager, Tamara Alves. The DM consisted of a few screenshots from Adesanya and Costa bout with a caption, ‘Haw you can be together with this shit, he like black boys.’
Costa was not letting that happen and took matters into his own hands and shared a screenshot of the DM, along with a caption that read, “ I’m going to report this harassment by Gourmet Chen Chen towards my girlfriend, the future mother of my children, and my manager.”
This incident might not have been anything productive or groundbreaking. But it surely made the fight all the more spicy and anticipating.
