Carlos Sainz has left the F1 world absolutely smitten by his brilliance. The winner of the Singapore Grand Prix. Ever since Sainz demonstrated his brilliance behind the steering wheel at the Marina Bay, his rise to form has been nothing short of dramatic. Many critics believed that Sainz managed to do what Gerhard Gerger did at the iconic 1988 Italian GP.
Meanwhile, if you shift your focus to the Ferrari camp itself, you will see that Carlos is also making inroads to get some attention to himself over Charles Leclerc. After looking impeccably at the Italian and Singapore GP Weekends, things are looking to work out for the young driver.
According to the stat, Sianz improved his single-lap qualifying pace. This has always been Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc niche, but now we can see Sainz creeping into this territory. Secondly, Sainz is also somebody who is known for his strategic brilliance, something that he demonstrated in Marina Bay.
Is Sainz The New Favorite Of Ferrari?
Bringing something more to the table, Sainz is quickly rising the ranks not only in the races but in the overall hierarchy of his camp as well. Ever since 2019, Charles Leclerc has been Ferrari’s go-to man for taking on the legendary Max Verstappen. But now, with Sainz’s arrival into the game, the tables seem to have turned, and Sainz is seen as the primary by several Ferrari insiders. In fact, Ferrari’s ambassador, Marc Gene, has taken a stance claiming that Sainz is their new go-to man.
In an official statement by Gene given to the Formula Passion, Gene said, “He is very fast, he makes very few mistakes, he is very intelligent and technically he is very complete. He has all it takes to become world champion. Plus he was the only teammate who could stand up to Verstappen when they found themselves in the same team.” Therefore, this seems great for Carlos Sainz but a tad bit ominous for Charles Leclerc.
