UFC Paris was witness to an impressive win by former interim heavyweight champion Ciryl Gane against Sergey Spivak. This win came as a pleasant surprise for MMA fans as they did not expect Gane to clinch a victory in this match.
After impressing fans with his explosive power, Gane took a backfoot. In his quest for an undisputed title, Gane seemed to face a lot of setbacks. But now Gane is back, and he once again managed to impress fans with his performance.
After riding the waves of success once again, Gane seemed much more confident and sure of himself. In a recent interview with Ariel Helwani on the MMA Hour, gane was seen exuding that sense of confidence.
Fans claimed that this was something that they missed ever since the devastating losses Gane faced against Francis Ngannou and Jon Jones.
Champ On Upcoming Fights:
The interview covered a wide range of topics of MMA, which even included the Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic bout that is slated to happen later this year. According to Gane, Jones is the one who will come out victorious.
When prodded further by the host, Ariel, Gane explained, “I remember during fight week I say, I’m gonna say Jon Jones because he’s awkward, really clean, and that’s better if he can retain it with a clean record.”
Gane not only appreciated Jones’ compulsion to maintain a pristine fight record. He believes this compulsion will be the driving force that will help Jones to overpower his opponent.
In fact, he also alluded to Jones’ unique fighting style, which is a mix of brute force and nuanced technicality.
Not Only Gane but many MMA analysts believe in Jones’ ability to switch between the two modes on the fly. This puts Jones on an advantageous edge which makes it difficult for his opponents to come at him.
