Sourav Ganguly admits that no one will stay in the administration for eternity. The journey started in 2015 when he was appointed as the Secretary of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), and it is time to exit from the position of BCCI President.
The news spread a couple of days ago, and finally, Sourav Ganguly broke his silence. His tenure as BCCI president was not renewed. Sourav Ganguly says, “can’t be an administrator forever.” He was the former Indian skipper who had done tremendous work as a captain of team India. Now, it is time for Roger Binny to step in as the new President of BCCI. He will be in the position unopposed. The board will have an Annual General Meeting on October 18. Roger Binny was a member of the World Cup in 1983.
Ganguly also said, “I was a cricketer’s administrator. Yes, you had to make decisions because there’s so much cricket happening, there’s so much money around. There’s women’s cricket, there’s domestic cricket. Yes, you had to take calls at times as an individual.” One year ago, Ganguly said NO, to the BJP. So, West Bengal’s political parties are blaming BJP for the exit of the BCCI President. But Amit Shah’s son Jay Shah is still in the position where he was.
“You can’t play forever. You can’t be an administrator forever, but it’s been fun doing both and seeing both sides of the coin. I will go for bigger things in future. Life, achievements, and progress are about small goals. You don’t become a Sachin Tendulkar or an Ambani or Narendra Modi in one day. You have to spend your life, time, days, weeks, months working towards it. That’s the key to success. If you decide that this is my job, this is my life, give everything you have for the rest of your life to be the best,” Ganguly also added.
