The Phoenix Suns were one of the biggest teams that the fans were looking forward to seeing this season. Adding another All-Star player to the team’s All-Star duo of Durant and Booker was thought to produce amazing results for the team. However, things rarely panned out the way everyone thought they would.
So far, The Suns have barely managed to stay afloat. In fact, the team underperformed immensely. This has led Durant to come out to the public to be brutally honest about the whole situation. A close win against one of the worst teams in the east division led Durant to have some charged things to say about his team.
One Man
The Suns barely scraped by the Washington Wizards in a 112-108 win. Again, Bradley Beal was absent from the team due to an ankle injury that was sustained a few games ago. As a result, the Suns were seen as lost. Therefore, Washington managed to give the Suns a run for their money in a match that was supposed to be a piece of cake for a team with three All-Star players.
After the game, Durant did not hold back and went all in and said, “We didn’t splinter, we stayed together. We’ve been struggling, and wins are hard to come by in this league.” This shows that Durant is aware of the problems that are plaguing his team. Still, he tried his best to lead his team to a glorious victory. Durant singlehandedly led with 28 points, 5 assists, and 5 rebounds. But Basketball is not a game where a single player can help win a match. And therefore, the team needs to sort out its priorities.
