Samson Dauda, popularly lauded as the Nigerian Lion, astonished the bodybuilding world for the first time in the 2022 Mr. Olympia. Last year, Mr. Olympia was the debut season for the Nigerian-born bodybuilder.
But this does not mean that he is some wet-behind-the-ears bodybuilder who broke the surface. In fact, the bodybuilder first came into focus back in 2018 and even earned his pro card at the EVLS Prague Pro.
Even though Dauda became one of the hot topics after his appearance on the stage, he still managed to lose the title of Mr. Olympia somehow. And one of the primary reasons cited by him is how the vent went longer than what was scheduled.
In fact, this is the reason why many bodybuilders, including Samson Dauda, believe that they lost their shot. In fact, he even made a video of himself showing the situation.
Losing By An Inch:
But this year, Samson believes that nothing can stop him. In a recent Instagram live, Samson came online and talked about his preparation and how he wishes that history does not repeat itself.
In a candid recollection, Samson said to his IG family, “Hopefully, this Olympia won’t have that problem. We won’t be backstage for four hours waiting to get on. So, we know we can time things a lot better. And I won’t miss sitting there waiting to go on stage.”
People who do not share an interest in bodybuilding must be oblivious to the fact, but bodybuilders have to literally dehydrate themselves prior to the show, so they appear more vascular.
So, it is not at all an easy task to wait for the cue to get on while being dehydrated. He also says that he is glad and that he wishes the organizers and officials would take care of it so that history does not repeat itself.
In fact, more than an inconvenience, the experience was something along the lines of harrowing. So, all the participants are praying that it does not happen again.
