Sunday was especially a sunny day for all the NASCAR fans and especially people who sided with Ryan Blaney. Blaney managed to cap the longest green flag run since 1996 at the Martinsville Speedway and clinch his first trip to next Sunday’s Championship 4.
The Twitter family went gaga over Ryan Blaney and William Byron’s supposedly comeback from the slump to join the Round of 8 champions Christopher Bell and Kyle Larson.
The Big Four
As of now, Ryan Blaney, William Byron, Christopher Bell, and Kyle Larson are the final four racers competing at next Sunday’s event at the Phoenix Raceway. It is an amazing feat if you consider Blaney’s last few races.
Blaney ran a nearly perfect race by clearing 168 green flags. This managed to make him one of the longest green-flag racers at the Martinsville Speedway. This was Blaney’s third win of the season and 10th of his career.
When asked about how Blaney and his team managed to clinch such important victories, all he had to say was, ‘We didn’t make any mistakes.’ Such a simple, humble, yet cold answer really showed that Blaney is still letting the win sink in.
Fans are currently looking forward to seeing Blaney tear up the tarmac on Sunday, but will things be as breezy as it was this Sunday?
Well, the answer is no! To take on three very capable racers at the same time is not something that will be a cakewalk. In fact, I personally believe that Larson might have better odds than Blaney. Still, unless the race actually happens, there is no saying who will win.
