It looks like India’s luck is shining this year. Starting from the wins at Olympics, the country is now nailing the Paralympics as well. While shooter Avani Lekhara managed to win Gold, Javelin thrower Devendra Jhajharia managed to win a silver medal at the Tokyo Paralympics.
Devendra Jhajharia’s Silver Medal Is A Victory At The Paralympics
Devendra Jhakharia is a two-time gold medalist at Paralympics at Javelin throwing. He wins the event for the third time, but he only managed to secure the silver medal this time. India’s Sundar Singh Gurjar won the bronze medal at the throw F46. It proves how strong India’s position is in this year’s athletics.
Jhajharia is 40 years old, and he is a prominent name in the Paralympics event on behalf of India. He won the gold medals in the 2004 Athens Paralympic event, and he also won it on the 2016 Rio Paralympics. This time his Javelin throw was 64.35 meters, which was his personal best, but unfortunately, that could only bag him a silver medal.
Superb performance by @DevJhajharia! One of our most experienced athletes wins a Silver medal. Devendra has been making India continuously proud. Congratulations to him. Best of luck for his future endeavours. #Paralympics pic.twitter.com/204B90fXbv

Gurjar came third in this game. The 25-year-old athlete is courageous because he lost his left hand when a metal sheet fell on it at his friend’s house in 2015. However, he chose to continue his fight and gave his best effort with a throw of 64.01 meters at this year’s Paralympics.
India is overjoyed by the Bronze medal won by @SundarSGurjar. He has shown remarkable courage and dedication. Congratulations to him. Wishing him the very best. #Paralympics pic.twitter.com/irTIHefCoH

Avani Lekhara Makes India’s Winning Journey Even More Memorable
The 19-year-old paralympic participant Avani Lekhara won a gold medal at shooting. She even equalized the world record with a score of 239.7. When she won the gold medal, it was indeed a proud moment for every Indian. Moreover, India’s national anthem echoed in the arena, which even made the event more memorable.
Avani Lekhara created history with her gold medal-winning scene. She becomes the first Indian woman to win gold at shooting at the Paralympics. Previously, this spot was occupied by Javelin legend Devendra Jhajharia, but he managed to bag a silver medal this time.
Neeraj Chopra also did not hesitate to congratulate the young shooter at this event. He tweeted:
“Congratulations Avani Lekhara on such an amazing performance at your first Paralympics and for giving us the opportunity to listen to the national anthem again in Tokyo!”
