Sri Lanka defeated Pakistan with the help of Pathum Nissanka, scoring an unbeatable score of 55 runs for the team. The last super 4 Asia Cup match witnessed the victory of team Sri Lanka on Friday. Sri Lanka won against Pakistan by five wickets.
Bhanuka Rajapaksa and Dasun Shanaka also landed their assistance to the team. They scored 24 and 21 runs, respectively. Although a massive run came from the bat of Nissanka, Wanindu Hasaranga was the one to hit the winning four.
The day was favourable to Sri Lanka as the team Sri Lanka claimed the victory with three spare overs in their hands. Wanindu Hasaranga of Sri Lanka also bagged three wickets. Both Maheesh Theekshana and Pramod Madushan took two wickets each.
Pakistan had scored 121 runs setting up an easy target for the Sri Lankan team to chase. Babar Azam of Pakistan was the top scorer of the team with 30 runs. Mohammad Nawaz scored 26 runs.
The outcome of the match took Pakistan and Sri Lanka to the finals of the Asia Cup. The finals of the 2022 Asia cup will take place at 07:30 pm IST on 11th September. Sri Lanka is the winner of three matches in the Super 4 stage. Pakistan won 2 matches of three. Pakistan and Sri Lanka will see each other face to face tomorrow.
