Sri Lanka won their sixth trophy in Asia Cup. Sri Lanka scored 170 runs; in return, Pakistan was all out in 147. Rajapaksha and Hasaranga were the heroes of Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka has been craving a trophy for the last couple of years. But finally, the good days are coming as they have successfully secured their sixth Asian Cup by beating Pakistan in the Finals. Again, it’s Bhanuka Rajapaksha who showed his brilliant performance by scoring 71 runs in 45 balls. And the all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga scored 36 runs in 21 balls and took 3 wickets by giving 27 runs.
The match started with Sri Lanka batting first. Pakistan won the toss and chose to field first. Sri Lanka failed to start well, as they lost their 5th wicket in 58 runs. Then Rajapaksha and Hasarnga played a brilliant innings. Their partnership took Srilanka to 170 runs. Karunaratne finished the innings by scoring 14 runs. Rajapaksha was not out at the end of their innings.
Pakistan was confident enough, but Pramod Madushan did an excellent job taking Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman’s wickets early. Mohammad Rizwan and Ifthikhar Ali were playing well. But, again, Madushan broke the partnership of these two well-settled batters. The rest of the team failed to score a significant run, and Hasaranga joined Madushan to destroy the Pakistan castle.
Rizwan scored 55 runs, and Ahmed made 32 runs. But the rest of the team failed in the finals. The Sri Lankan bowling attack was furious, so Sri Lanka secured their sixth Asian Cup trophy.
