The US Open Championship is just round the corner and the whole swimming community is going ga ga over it. However, just as things looked good for the championship, things took a turn for the worse. An unfortunate event led the to deterioration of the energy of several enthusiast.
Due to some unforeseen event, Leon Marchand, 400 IM World Record Holder and World champion withdrew his name from the championship roster. This left the swimming community in splits as they are not able to understand the reason behind it. Sources suggest that this was in the wake of some undisclosed ilness. The French prodigy left the championship on his on onus.

The US Open Championship is all slated to take place from 29th of November to the 2nd of December. The event is slated to take place at the Greensboro Aquatic Center of North Carolina.
According to a famous swimming daily, the news was released originally by his coach Bob Bowman. When asked about the action plan, Bob’s official statement was, “Just makes sense for now to get back into training and move forward from there”. This suggests that there might be some ray of hope for the 21-year-old.
Leon Marchand is the only swimmer who managed to surpass Michael Phel’s long standing record at the Fukoka 2023 World Aquatic Championship. Therefore, the swimming community is right sad to see this young man not competing in the US Open.
