Who Is Imran Khan?
Born in Lahore to a Niazi Pashtun family, Imran Khan was the only son among four sisters. His parents, Ikramullah Khan, a civil engineer, and Shaukat Khanum, were settled in the Mianwali region of northwestern Punjab.
Khan showed early signs of his love for cricket when he was studying at the Royal Grammar School Worchester in England. Imran Khan made his debut in Lahore at 16 years old. By the 1970s he was playing for the Lahore home team.
Khan made his debut in Test cricket against England in 1971. Three years later in 1974, he made his debut in ODI matches. After graduating in 1976, he returned to Pakistan and joined the national team.
His record as one of the fastest bowlers in the world was recognized when he bowled 139.7km/h in a contest. Later he became the pioneer of the reverse swing technique. Before his retirement, he imparted his techniques to bowlers such as Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis.

Political Career:
On 25th April 1996, Imran Khan founded a Political Party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. In 2011, Khan’s political party became a threat to the ruling party. According to the International Republican Institute’s survey, PTI topped the list of popular political parties in Pakistan.
In the 2018 general election, Khan contested. In the end, on July 28th, the Election Commission of Pakistan proclaimed that PTI won a total of 116 out of 270 seats.
On 6th August 2018, PTI officially announced Imran Khan as Prime Minister. He became the 22nd Prime Minister of Pakistan and took office on 18th August.
On 8th March 2022, the opposition parties submitted a no-confidence motion against Imran Khan to the National Assembly’s secretariat.
On 10th April, the no-confidence motion vote was held, where Imran Khan was removed from office. He was the first prime minister in Pakistan to be removed from office through a no-confidence vote.
