Greg Doucette is now who you think. He is not some typical ‘fitness coach’ you can find on the internet. He is a Guineed Book of World Records holder in sumo deadlift powerlifting.
Subsequently, he has further won countless IFBB pro titles and also holds a B.S. and M.S. in Kinesiology. Therefore, it is safe to call him an industry expert.
Due to his countless accolades and educational bodybuilding content, this Canadian Pro has gained widespread fame in the bodybuilding circuit in recent years.
In fact, sources suggest that he is one of the fastest-growing fitness influencers of recent times, and his growing YouTube family is a testament to that.
In a recent post named “Why Would You Ask This?” Doucette was seen deconstructing the myths surrounding diets and how to maintain strength while cutting.
Also, in a query, a bodybuilding aficionado asked Doucette how to take his current fat percentage (22%) down to 14% or 12% and how to proceed with it. However, The Canadian Pro had a very out-of-the-box opinion about the matter.
Doucette’s Secret:
Doucette suggested that budding bodybuilders not go through a drastic change in their diet. In fact, he suggested that a cutting and bulking phase should not look too different.
Doucette said, “The key is to diet so slowly that you don’t even feel like you’re dieting. If you’re doing an aggressive cut, like in one question, the guy was doing a 1500-calorie deficit daily, then that’s ridiculous. Of course, you’re going to get weaker.”
After discussing the trick to proper dieting, Doucette also addressed a general rule of thumb one needs to follow in the gym while cutting.
Doucette added, “Don’t go into a cut thinking you need to improve your lifts. Just try to maintain them as much as possible.” Therefore, according to the 47-year-old IFBB Pro, the key to bodybuilding is consistency and pacing yourself accordingly.
