The police charged Former Vikings from Minnesota, Everson Griffen, the edge rusher, with a fourth-degree DWI. The incident took place on Saturday morning after the police pulled Griffen over in Chanhassen.
The court-provided document said that a Deputy arrested Everson Griffen on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. The arrest took place after a chase on Powers Boulevard.
One of the reports said that after witnessing the “reckless and erratic” driving, the deputy activated the sirens, turned the emergency lights on, and chased the vehicle, but the car continued to move at “a high rate of speed.”
The deputy said that the driver was illegally passing vehicles. At the time, he tried to stop him, later identifying the ‘man ‘accused’ as Griffen.
The car pulled over eventually, and they took a field sovereignty test. The incident report mentioned that Everson Griffen “performed poorly” in the field sobriety test.
Everson Griffin Was Arrested On Saturday With Fourth-Degree DWI:
The court document mentioned that he had a 0.99 breath alcohol concentration (BrAC) during the preliminary breath test. Moreover, the next sample that the Carver County Jail checked had a breath control concentration of 0.09 DMT.
The deputy mentioned in the report that his eyes were “very bloodshot, watery, and glassy.” In fact, his breath had a faint smell of alcohol. The documents that the court provided had Griffen’s statement that he gave the deputy.
Additionally, it said that Everson Griffen was coming from a casino to the grand opening of a restaurant. Everson Griffen had been with the Vikings for almost 11 seasons and has the fourth-most career sacks in the history of the franchise.
Moreover, he has always been a preacher for mental health from the time he first posted on Instagram in December 2021 about bipolar disorder.
