Coco Gauff is just bouncing from one victory to another. Following her sensational win at the Citi Open, Cincinnati had something waiting for this 19-year-old wiz that possibly. This surprise changed the career of this player forever.
Recently, Coco Gauff, who is currently ranked 7th internationally, recently won her first-ever WTA 1000 title at the Western and Southern Open after taking on Karolina Muchova.
This was a huge moment for this young player and probably changed the course of her career entirely. Till now, Gauff is the youngest player to lift this title and receive a whopping check of $454,000 in prize money. This is a record in itself.
However, the road was tough, and the journey was hell. Post the celebration, Gauff gave an official statement to the press, expressing her gratitude towards her supporters and her ‘biggest strength’ on and off the court.
Coco Gauff’s Heartwarming Speech:
In a heartwarming speech during the award ceremony, Coco said, “This is unbelievable. I’d like to thank my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I spent a lot of nights alone crying trying to figure it out. I still have a lot to figure out, but I thank him for covering me.”
This shows how much Jesus meant to this young player and how much she owes it to him.
Following this show of gratitude, Coco went ahead to discuss the journey she had to make in order to reach wherever she is currently.
The young player spent countless nights in an effort to make sense of the road she must take and proceed further. Still, with the ‘Lord and Savior’ by his side, Coco got the strength to undergo that journey and come out as a winner from the other end. A truly inspirational tale.
