1992 Dallas Cowboys
Whether it is the offensive play or the defensive one, the ‘92 Cowboys were phenomenal on both sides. 1999 St. Louis Rams
What would you call a team that has approximately 58% more points than the total league average? The elites. This singular feat is something that is still unmatched to this day. Whoever witnessed Rams play in the 1999 NFL would agree that it was the worst football team to be going up against without any sort of defensive counterattack strategies in your arsenal. Unlike the offensive play of the team, the defensive play is not appreciated that much. Still, they managed to hold on to their own and went on to biome legends in the annals of NFL history. Kurt Wagner was the breakthrough star for the Rams that season. From there, he went on to become one of the greats of American football.
1975 Pittsburgh Steelers
This year, the Pittsburg team had approximately around 11 Pro Bowlers and at least three All-Pros. The team reached the height of greatness solely because of the versatility and the richness of the talent it housed. What the 1999 Rams were to the offense, the 1975 Steelers were to the defense. In the total season that year, the Steelers intercepted 27 passes while only letting nine passing touchdowns. It is an impressive feat to achieve. The offense was not too shabby as well, the Terry Bradshaw-led crew was fairly tactical and efficient in their own rights.
1989 San Francisco 49ers
The 1989 49ers was a star show. Some of the best and most wanted players of the league played in the team that year. Some of the prominent names of the 49ers include Joe Montana, Roger Craig, Steve Young, Jerry Rice, and Ronnie Lott. After the season, Rice, Lott, and Montana were awarded the All-Pro honors. The 1991 team had around two Pro Bowlers, and one of them was CB Darell Green, a worthy contender for being one of the greatest defensive backs to have ever played in the NFL. The 1991 team was known for their offensive magic, and this is largely due to the two explosive 1,000-yard receivers they had in their arsenal.
