Demtrius Andrade just got TKO’ed by David Benavidez. This was quite a surprising turn of events as Andrade was known to be someone who was eyeing to secure Canelo Alvarez’s title. Still, what’s done is done, and Benavidez managed to TKO Demetrius Andrade at the young age of just 26.
Benavidez just managed to demonstrate world-class boxing against an established fighter like Andrade. This cemented Demetrius’ position as a rising star in the boxing community. However, the win did not come easy to Benavidez. One can say that Andrade made Benavidez work for the title.
Andrade Vs Benavidez
During the initial part of the fight, Demetrius maintained his distance and boxed on a defensive foot. As a result, Benavidez took a few rounds to adjust to Andrade’s strategy. But once Benavidez found his footing and strategy, there was no turning back. However, when Benavidez was asked about his opinion of the fight, he blatantly said that the fight was kind of underwhelming for him.
Reflecting on his win, Benavidez said, “I shut everybody up again who started slow. Used my jab, used the range, and then we are coming around with straight rights and right hooks.” he further went on to discuss the moment that led him to win, “I dipped his left hand and came over with a right that hit right on the button.”
This victory was a true testament to this 26-year-old Boxer’s great potential. Keep following our page for more sports-related content and news.
