Philadelphia Phillies are just one win away from winning a direct ticket to the NLCS for the second year in a row. The greatest contributor to this situation is the recent 10-2 victory this Wednesday, along with Bruce Harper.
Harper has been the singular driving force that saw the Phillies seeing the light at the end of the tunnel for the second time in a row this year.
Over the course of five postseason games this year, Harpers slashed around .353/.500/.828. It’s an amazing figure that works perfectly for the 1.382 OPS. Harper has always been phenomenal in the postseason.
Even though he hasn’t won the World Series title, everyone still knows him for boasting an unusually high OPS, which clocks at 1.010.
The New Babe Ruth.
This postseason, Harper has acquired at least 14 career home runs. This is a new record as he is the 18th person to do so. But what is even more surprising is that Harper achieved that number in just 41 games.
The only person who has achieved this feat apart from Harper is Babe Ruth, who managed to get 15 dingers across 41 playoff games.
But that is not the only thing that Babe Ruth and Harper share. Both of these players are the only two people who have at least 100 post-season plate appearances, more than 14 home runs, and a percentage of .635 or more.
