After a humiliating defeat in their season opener, the LSU Tigers had to face a lot of heat. Fans lost hope in these girls and questioned if they were even qualified enough to be the champions. But their recent victory at their home base really put those speculations to rest. In an amazing display of athletic prowess, Angel Reese and her girls managed to absolutely dominate Queens University with a resounding 112-55 scorecard. This not only announced that LSU is a dominant force but that they mean business.
The Lady Tigers came out to court on Thursday night with a mindset to win. And the way the team came together to bring their best game forward, it was enough to drop jaws on the floor. Just as the game started, the defending champs did not take too much time to establish their dominance.
The Lady Tigers & Their Hunt
Angel Reese, along with Sa’Myah Smith, set the overall tone of the match pretty early on. The duo has a combined score of 49 out of the team’s total of 112 points. The Bayou Barbie managed to spearhead her team with 28 points and 14 rebounds. Following her suit was S’Myah Smith with her 21 points and 8 rebounds in the first half. And in the second half, Smith managed to score 10 points more, therefore totaling 31 points.
Fans are absolutely ecstatic with the LSU Tiger’s performance and credit head coach Kim Mullery for this raging success. According to the sources, Mulkey made some real changes to the starting line-up. The most prominent of such changes is that Mulkey benched Aneesah Morrow to give Smith a chance. This greatly affected the overall point pool of the team. Therefore, it is safe to say that LSU is back in all its glory.
