Iga Swiatek just proved to be absolutely phenomenal when it comes to tennis. The Pole has achieved mind-boggling feats of athleticism. This only set her up for a more bombastic 2024 season. Even though things looked a little rocky for the tennis star, she regained her lost form quite quickly. Her performance this year has catapulted this Polish star to the top of the chart as high as Serena Williams.
While Serena Willaims is always seen as the cream of the crop when it comes to tennis. Therefore, even being considered to be in the same league as Williams should not be a small feat. Swiatek is probably one of the few players who managed to fulfill this impossible task.
Swiatek On A Roll
Swiatek started conquering the tennis world when she won the 2019 French Open. Since then, Swiatek has hardly faltered in her career. After playing and defeating some of the top stars of the tennis world, Swiatek entered the next season ranked at #1. However, during the US Open, she did stumble. Soon enough, Swiatek was back doing what she does best.
A recent post by a famous Tennis news handle brought to light some of the achievements of this newest tennis prodigy. The post said, “With 6, not only did @iga_swiatek lead the women’s tour for most titles in 2023, but she’s the first woman in a DECADE to win a WTA 250, a WTA 500, a WTA 1000, the WTA Finals *and* a Grand Slam in the same season. 👏Serena was the last woman to do it in 2013.”
Apart from this, Swiatek has also finished 77 weeks at #1. This made her the tenth athlete to achieve this. Swiatek is currently on a successful roll, and she will not stop for anybody.
