Cyber Monday and Black Friday are nothing short of a whirlwind. This sends shoppers into a frenzied mode due to exceptionally low retail prices. However, when the dust settles, all of these things go back to normalcy. And this gives rise to Giving Tuesday. It is a day for charity, generosity, and giving.
In this spirit of giving, racing icons like the legendary Dale Earnhardt Jr, Jimmie Johnson, and Joey Logano are trying to give back to the society that made them what they are. Logano crafted a video that urged his fans to extend a helping hand to underprivileged children. Meanwhile, Earnhardt did his part by calling his instagram followers to take the lead in order to combat hunger for the nation’s endangered youths.
The Humanitarian Efforts.
The owner of the famed Legacy Motorsport revealed, “We’re proud to support our drivers who are leaving a legacy beyond the track. For every dollar donated to our #GivingTuesday campaign benefitting @TeamJJF, @ErikJonesFdn, and @VictoryJunction, we will be matching up to $10,000 now through 11/30.”
Such a heartfelt gesture from the trio managed to demonstrate that NASCAR drivers are not just about checkered flags and high speed. They are also quite driven towards giving back to the community. In a show of solidarity, another driver called Kevin Harvick presented Joey Logano with a donation of $12,000. This swept the veteran off of his feet as it was a huge deal.
This is not a one-off incident that drivers are trying to do. In fact, NASCAR as an organization, is repeatedly trying to demonstrate an equal sense of giving back to the community.
