This season, things have been different for the Dallas Cowboys and Jerry Jones. Everything from the 2023 draft to player contract negotiations. The team is approaching this season with a newer outlook and is abstaining from investing insane amounts of money in off-season trades.
The only two signings this off-season include Stephon Gilmore and WR Branding Cooks. Both of these signings were very team-friendly, as the money was kept in check.
Hence, Pro Football Focus gave the team a B for their off-season activities.
2023 Is The Year Of Big Decisions For The Dallas Cowboys: But, What’s The Catch?
However, the team needs to prepare for two things if they plan on continuing to be at the top of their game.
Firstly, the team’s quarterback, Dak Prescott, did not enjoy a pleasant last season. Due to injuries, the QB had to sit through several games.
In fact, Prescott is the only QB in history to have sat through five or more games and still managed to lead the team in a particular season.
However, through several media outlets, Prescott has put out the word that he is looking to make amends and turn a new leaf this season.
Secondly, the Dallas Cowboys could see their exiled RB returning, which is another headline. After a sub-par performance in the last few games, the team decided to let go of their former RB Ezekiel Elliot and replaced him with Tony Pollard.
Jerry Jones has confirmed this rumor and has assured the fans that this decision is a well-thought-out one.
Jones also told the media that Zeke has been working on his game this off-season and has made some considerable headway.
