If you are wondering when IPL is scheduled to begin, it will start on the 31st of March, with the final match scheduled to be played on the 28th of May. While 2022 saw eight teams battling it out in the field, the BCCI has upped the scales with ten teams this season.

IPL 2023 will open with the current defending champions, Gujrat Titan facing the evergreen Chennai Super Kings on 31st March in Ahmedabad. This IPl season, you will get to witness 18 doubleheaders, and guess what? The whole home-and-away idea is back for good this season – every team will get to play seven away matches and seven home matches.
Just so you know, IPL 2023 is also being called IPL 16 – it’s Indian Premier League’s sixteenth season. Established by BCCI (Board Of Control For Cricket In India), this T20 cricket league has the same title sponsor as 2022 – yep, the Tata Group has bagged the spot. So, it’s also TATA IPL 2023.
IPL Schedule
The IPL schedule for this season says that we will get to witness 74 matches, including 70 league matches considering every team will get to play 14 matches, 2 quarterfinals, 1 eliminator, and a final match. The teams that will end up winning 6 matches will get to qualify for the semifinal matches and reach the elimination stages.

IPL 2023 Teams
So now you have a fair idea about the IPL match list for 2023. This year, IPL fans will get to witness two new teams, Lucknow Super Giants and Gujrat Titans. Apart from that, fans will get to watch their other favorite eight teams from previous seasons. These teams are as follows,

The IPL teams can include 25 players at the most and 18 players at the least, with a total of 6 overseas players. The IPL 2023 auction was completed by the 23rd of December in Kochi. The BCCI had previously announced that although no mega auction will be held for this season, a mini-auction can be held – teams were allowed to release and bring in players.
