It is no mystery that Djokovic is one of the most popular and loved tennis players of all time. The winner of 24 Grand Slam titles is certainly one of the most revered tennis players of all time.
But this is an opinion that not many people share. The glory of the Serbia tennis legend has become a hard pill to swallow for several individuals from the same community.
According to former World No.1 Rennae Stubbs, Novak Djokovic is definitely one of the finest tennis players. But she believes that Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal are more beloved by the tennis community. The reason behind this statement is unknown, but somebody was not having it.
As soon as Rennae Stubbs provided her insight into the matter, Chris Evret intervened.
According to the former tennis legend Evret, Djoker is the best regardless of his motivations. In fact, Jimmy Connors also stepped up and supported Evret for her stance.
The Hate For The G.O.A.T:
Ever since Djoker made his debut back in 2007, the Serb has dealt with a lot of hate. Be it for his refusal to COVID-19 vaccines or his on-court rage display, Djoker is a tough guy to love for many.
Therefore, it is only natural that many people focus more on his shortcomings and not on the fact that he is an amazing player.
Amidst the mixed reaction from fans, some tennis veterans are not going to take any argument and will definitely consider Djoker as one of the greatest.
In a fiery commentary, Jimmy Connor issued a statement saying, “We’re talking about a 36-year-old guy who’s making the headlines. And I’m going to say it again. I like that. You know, he made a good statement. He says I’m staying around as long as these young guys don’t want to beat me. He does everything he can to be the best he can be. All you have to do is just give him respect for everything he’s put into it. And by the way, he’s on number 24.”
This shows how Djoker made fans, as well as veterans, happy with his game. Keep following our page for more sports-related content.
