Everyone remembers the rivalry between Charles Barkley and Michael Jordan. But many people seem to be oblivious to the fact that they both shared an amazing friendship on the court that many people envied. Sadly, we do not get to witness the bond between the duo. But in a resurfaced video, we got to see shadows of the old friendship between the two.
A famous interview of Barkley and Jordan conducted by Oprah Winfrey back in 2005 gave us hints about the bromance between the two. In the interview, Chuck shared his fear of motorcycles, and that started a whole new row. When Barkley said, “I’m glad you brought up the motorcycle thing, cause I hate that, I want you to know that.“ Oprah pointed at Jordan, an avid motorcycle, and asked Barkley, ‘Has he [Jordan] gotten you on a motorcycle?” Barkley hilariously responded, “Hell no!”
The Bromance
Jordan being the witty man he is, took a dig at Barkley’s big structure to mock him. Jordan instantaneously said, “But I’m sorry, the seat is not big enough.” and the motorcycle tirade kept on continuing.
At one point, Jordan was not able to take Chuck’s hate for motorcycles and he presented his own opinion saying, “I disagree… When you ride a motorcycle, you have to be a defensive rider… You don’t have time to talk on the phone, you don’t have time to eat… most people do every single day… You have to be really focused on seeing the traffic ahead.” Just two friends bickering. His Airness has always been an avid motorcycle fanatic, so it is understandable why the 5-time MVP took a stance for his passion. Keep following our page for more sports-related news and stories.
