In Kolkata, Sourav Ganguly, the head of the BCCI, was found to be infected with the novel coronavirus. With minimal symptoms, the ex-captain of the Indian Cricket Team was admitted to the Woodlands sanitarium in Kolkata.
Sourav Is Trapped In The Covid19 Claws
Sourav Ganguly, the BCCI President, and former India captain, were brought to the hospital after testing positive for Covid-19, according to Snehasish, the great cricketer’s brother. After his RT-PCR test result came back positive late Monday night, the renowned cricketer was transported to the hospital as a precaution.
Last night, one of India’s most successful captains was escorted to Woodlands Nursing Home. Sourav Ganguly has been given medicine, according to his brother Snehasish, and his health is currently stable.
Even though Ganguly is double vaccinated, his health seemed to deteriorate Monday night, which is why he had to be rushed to Woodlands Hospital.

Ganguly is 49 years old, and even he had an emergency angioplasty earlier this year due to critical cardiac issues. This is why, given his medical history, a team of specialists is keeping a careful eye on his health.
The medical board that is keeping a watchful eye on Sourav’s health; is composed of Dr. Saptarshi Basu, Dr. Saroj Mondal, and Dr. Soutik Panda. They are also keeping a careful eye on his health status in collaboration with Dr. Aftab Khan and Dr. Devi Shetty.
Basu added. Ganguly has traveled widely and participated in a variety of professional activities. This may be a reason why he was tested positive for Covid19. Even, Snehasish, his older sibling, had tested positive for COVID earlier this year, which may be another source of infection.
Doctors’ Comments
In a statement, Dr. Rupali Basu, MD & CEO of Woodlands Hospital, said that Sourav Ganguly got Monoclonal Antibody Cocktail treatment on the night he was brought into the hospital. However, even she said that he is presently hemodynamically stable.
Ganguly has been admitted to the sanitarium three times in recent months, the most recent being in January when he was rehabilitated twice after suffering from grave discomfort. Ganguly suffered from a major heart attack while he was exercising at his Kolkata home and needed a right coronary angioplasty right away.
He developed similar casket symptoms 20 days later, necessitating the second round of angioplasty on 28th January. During the surgery, two stents were placed on two roads.
Ganguly returned to work in March after being fully vaccinated against Covid-19. He was wholly vaccinated and traveled to different nations as needed to do his professional duties.
What We Think
We understand that the Croakers did not want to take any chances to put the famous cricketer in danger. Therefore he was admitted to the sanitarium on Monday night. His blood samples will be sent to genome sequencing to determine if he has been infected with the Omicron variant. We will let you know if we get any more updates on this event.
