Lionel Messi is the GOAT. And this time, he is getting reaffirmation from a former Chelsea icon. This seemed to have frustrated fans of Messi’s mortal rival, CR7. However, Ronaldo seems to agree with the commentary himself. Ronaldo has always claimed that Messi is the greatest player of all time.
Even after this, some sort of friction between the two fandoms is understandable. And things will get heated up further as two soccer icons will likely face each other in the Riyadh Cup of Saudi Arabia.
Messi Is The GOAT
In a recent podcast, John Obi-Mikel of Chelsea revealed something explosive that has divided the soccer fandom again. Obi said, “Ronaldo is a fantastic football player he’s done so. I will never doubt or discredit what Ronaldo’s achieved as a football player and as a person but in my opinion, the greatest football player is the goat is Messi, simple”.\
Obi further said, “I think Messi is the greatest football player ever for me. If a Cristiano Ronaldo fan is upset with what I’ve said or whoever fan is upset with what I’ve said you know it’s their opinion, but this is my opinion”
This has certainly left the fandom hankering for more. At one point, Obi went on to say that some fans are twisting facts and claiming that Argentina’s win was staged. This is something Obi has a problem with and asks soccer fans to stop.
