In this modern era of basketball, no rivalry is as great as the Curry x LeBron rivalry. Only a handful of players got the chance to share the locker room with these two giants, and one of them was JaVale McGee.
Not only did he get the opportunity to play with these two basketball giants, but he also managed to impress fans and colleagues with his incredible athleticism.
Recently, in a podcast named Podcast with P by Paul George, George himself praised the athlete for his amazing demonstration of basketball skills. George went all candid and reminisced about the initial days in the league.
Paul George used to play scrimmages in UCLA gyms with some of the big names of the NBA, and one such name was JaVale McGee.
According to George, the overall structure of the court presented an opportunity for McGee to stand out amongst the rest of them.
In fact, George also confessed that he secretly wished JaVale to be on his team for a change. The 33-year-old Clippers superstar further added, “He was just so athletic and he was so gifted with his length and size.”
Therefore, according to 8-time All-Star Paul George, this gave him an advantage over his opponents.
Who Is JaVale McGee?
JaVale McGee was first a part of Stephen Curry’s iconic Golden State Warrior roster. This is the roster that won back-to-back during the 2017 to 2018 run.
Later on, he went on to win his third ring under LeBron’s leadership in the LA Lakers in 2020. So, he not only shared courts with such legends but helped them in lifting the cups.
But the juicer bit is that McGee’s time with his current team, the Dallas Mavericks, is coming to an end. As a result, there is a possibility that he will be on the trade market in the near future.
The Lakers and Warriors are already looking out for a big man on their roster. There is a slight glimmer of possibility that the 7’0 giant might be joining either of his former teams.
