What is a man if he is not loyal? And this is something that Dave Portnoy believes from the core of his heart. This is a man who has proven himself to be capable in several different aspects. But above all, he is a loyal man who has not forgotten where he started from. Even after so many years, Portnoy seems to be somebody who still holds a deep allegiance to the University of Michigan.
Michigan recently emerged victorious in the Big Ten Conference championship game. As a result, the Michigan team will be facing the Alabama Crimson Tide in the next edition of the Rose Bowl. However, in a weird turn of events, Michigan will face Florida State University Seminoles.
Smoke And Mirrors.
The Seminoles ended the regular season with a clean record. They did not lose a single match and entered the Atlantic Coast Conference championship with a 13-0 record. Even after accomplishing such a stellar record, they were passed up by the College Football Playoff selection committee.
Instead, the committee chose the University of Alabama to play in the Rose Bowl playoff semifinals. The game is supposed to take place on New Year’s Eve. This greatly irked Portnoy, and he announced his solidarity with the FSU.
Portnoy took to X and penned down a quite emotionally charged statement saying, “FSU should boycott the Orange Bowl. They don’t owe anybody anything. They got f**ked. F**k them back.”
The committee issued an official statement claiming that the injuries sustained by the QB of FSU are the primary driving force behind this decision. Still, Portnoy sees this stance to be nothing but smoke and mirrors and that they will need a better excuse to pass FSU up.
