FIFA, the highest governing body for Football all over the world, has finally lifted the ban on the All India Football Federation. The decision was made public on Friday. This is great news for the country as it can now deck up for hosting the upcoming under seventeen women’s football world cup.
On August 15, FIFA decided to ban AIFF from the upcoming tournaments. The reason behind this suspension was “undue third-party influence.” The association had also added that they would not be holding the U-17 Women’s World Cup in India as planned.
However, much to the surprise, the Bureau of the FIFA Council announced its decision to lift the suspension. The decision was made public through the media release.
The council also announced that the U-17 Women’s World Cup for the year 2022 would be hosted and held in India as was planned earlier. The dates are from 11 to October 30.
