MS Dhoni won the toss and did not hesitate for a bit after winning the toss and putting PBKS into bat at a slow Wankhade track. CSK could not have asked for a better start with PBKS top order folding like nine pins.
KL Rahul lost his wicket thanks to a Sir Jadeja fielding special. Mayank Agarwal continued his dismal run in the VIVO IPL 2021 getting out on a duck.
Gayle, Hooda, and Pooran look like one of the most menacing middle-orders in IPL history. However, they too failed to make any mark. At one point it looked like CSK would end up restricting PBKS for less than 100.
However, the young and smashing Shahrukh Khan showed why greats like Anil Kumble have rated him highly.

SRK smashed a 36 ball 47 with 4 fours and 2 sixes. A small partnership with Jhye Richardson ensured that PBKS ended up scoring 106 off their quota of 20 overs.
Deepak Chahar showed why Dhoni responses so much faith in him. He ended his four overs with a brilliant spell picking up 4 wickets for just 13 runs. What’s more, he also got a maiden over!
Chennai could not have asked for a better score to chase on a dismal Wankhade wicket. Chennai started slow, too slow to be honest. Thanks to some good bowling from Shami, CSK openers looked at one point that they were playing a test match.
Ruturaj Gaikwad does not show any signs of maturing into the player everyone thinks he is. He got out on 5 off 16 balls.
That’s that from Match 8.@ChennaiIPL chase down the target in 15.4 overs and win by 6 wickets.

Faf du Plessis and Moeen Ali got CSK going scoring some quick runs against the run of play. Ali was the aggressor scoring 46 off 31 balls with 7 fours and 1 six.
Du Plessis also got going with some fine fours and 1 six. Raina’s old love-hate relationship with short balls continued. Shami getting the better of him with a 140 km/hr bouncer aimed bang at the forehead.
Rayudu had a brain fade trying to hit Shami out of the park on the very first ball. He ended up top-edging one to Pooran in the extra cover region. Sam Curran finally scoring the winning runs with a 4 off Meredith.
CSK comfortably winning with 6 wickets to spare. A lot of positives for CSK to take into the next match.
