Match Overview: Arsenal Retains The Emirates Cup Against Monaco
The match seemed like a roller coaster ride for all the fans watching. The match was extended to a penalty shootout after a late equalizer from Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah. This upped the ante as fans were waiting with bated breath.
The first one to take strike was Monaco’s Henrique, who scored the first goal (Arsenal 0-1 Monaco). He was followed by Arsenal’s Odegaard, who succeeded in taking the shot for Arsenal (Arsenal 1-1 Monaco).
Then Fofana came from Monaco’s side, and he succeeded in scoring the second goal (Arsenal 1-2 Monaco). Following Fofana, Jorginho came from the Gunners and scored the second goal (2-2). Then Diatanna came to take the strike and scored for Monaco (Arsenal 2-3 Monaco).
Then came Haveretz with another equalizer (Arsenal 3-3 Monaco). And not just that – then came Minamino; he shot the ball into the center, but Arsenal goalie Ramsdale saved the ball and held his ground (Arsenal 3-3 Monaco).
Finally, Arsenal’s Fabio Vieria came to take the strike and succeeded in it (Arsenal 4-3 Monaco). Therefore, it was Ramsdale’s save and Vieria’s goal that saved the day for the Gunners.
Recently, fans are elated that the team emerged victorious. But critics are saying that it might be too soon to celebrate, especially with a new season around the corner. The Manchester United game and the Monaco game should wake the Gunners up and push them towards a harder practice regime.
