As the winter transfer window approaches, the rumor train has picked up the pace. The players people are most concerned with include an Al Nassr teammate of Christiano Ronaldo whose future rests in a risky balance. The gossip turned out to be so powerful that the player had to come out in the open to address them.
The Rumor Train
Speculations have surrounded Seko Fofana and his future in Al Nassr. As a result, he came out to address the rumors himself. Even though Fofana is looking forward to continuing in Al Nassr, his move to Saudi Arabia must not be misinterpreted as early retirement. Therefore, he is keeping the prospect of his return open.
In a recent interview with Le Equipe, “In two, three, four years, I will still have the level to play in the Champions League, I am very demanding of myself. People might think I’m going to regress or stop progressing here, but not at all.”
Even though it is not confirmed, Fofana is seeking to exit the league due to the series’ lackluster performance. And this has been confirmed by several other colleagues of Fofana. All the while, Fofana has maintained a stance saying that he is happy to serve Al Nassr. Therefore, the situation seems a little dubious and unclear at the moment.
Meanwhile, sources suggest that Al Nassr is currently roping in David Ospina to replace Seko Fofana. But these claims seem to be far from the truth as well. Hence, the situation is not conclusive as to what will happen for real.
